Lindsey Darin, a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist, received her bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She earned her masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lindsey has been practicing for 8 years, in both the public schools as well as with Caryn Sachs Burstein and Associates. While working in the schools, Lindsey received extensive training and experience in the area of preschool language development, and how it relates to development of pre-readiness skills, fine/gross motor skills, social communication and play skills. Additionally, while working in special education, she received training in the areas of behavior modification, treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and augmentative communication. She currently works full time at Caryn's practice with children ages 15 months to 18 years of age. In addition to providing individual therapy services, Lindsey co-facilitates Social Pragmatic Language Groups alongside Speech-Language Pathologists, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. Her experience in special education and the public school system has enhanced her work in the private sector, as she incorporates behavior modification techniques and a multi-sensory approach to speech and language intervention. Additionally, serving as a member of a school team herself, Lindsey understands the importance of school-based services. Therefore, she works closely with her clients’ families and educational teams to problem-solve, assess intervention strategies and enhance communication across therapeutic settings.
